Consumer Products

Today, plastics play a crucial role in the way we design, engineer, and develop products. As time progressed, plastics were found to be the inexpensive and safer alternative to traditionally used materials like metals and wood. This ultimately raised the standard of living and introduced the idea of mass production at much economical rates.

Ultimately, plastics help us to create more with much less which is the basis of sustainable future. One of the most beneficial advantages to use thermoplastics is the resistance to chemicals & corrosion which make them choice for consumer goods and products.

Today we cannot imagine our day-to-day life without consumer products. These products may be appliances we use or household items to support our daily requirements or furniture for relaxing.

Packaging

A broad product portfolio comprising of REON polyvinylchloride, RELENE polyethylene & REPOL polypropylene grades helps meet the primary & secondary packaging requirements for consumer as well as industrial product.

Consumer packaging
  • Film & moulding grades to produce packs that hold and protect product viz pouches, lamination film, cling wrap, extrusion coating on paper/foil/other substrates, bottles, containers, caps & closures, punnets, trays etc. These packaging materials also bring additional functionality such package integrity, higher packaging speeds, cost efficacy, better shelf life and branding.

We offer options to develop mono-material packaging material for circular economy & sustainability initiatives in fast moving consumables.

Industrial packaging
  • RELENE polyethylene & REPOL polypropylene grades for manufacturing of heavy-duty shipping sacks from film & woven fabrics, intermediate bulk containers, crates/sheets, fluted boards, foam sheets, etc for packaging of industrial goods. Stretch cling films/shrink films/stretch hoods, crates, partition sheets & pallets that provide protection and load stability in form of secondary packaging

Automotive

Automotive industry embraced plastics worldwide due to its inherent advantage of lighter weight, resistance to corrosion and design friendliness. Polyolefins, especially Polypropylene takes a leading role in replacing metal components for better functional properties and cost reduction. Polyolefins also satisfy the growing demand for environment friendly products, enhanced safety standards, increased comfort, and better fuel economy.

Reliance Industries Limited is fully committed to the automotive industry with all its expertise in material selection of high-performance composites available for interior, exterior and under-the-hood applications. We are also rendering help to OEMs in localisation of resin and providing solutions for the replacement of costly engineering plastics and metals. At Reliance we take up these challenges to support our customers and end users.

Agriculture

The Green Revolution with its emphasis on high yielding variety seeds, fertilisers, pesticides, and better methods of farming, swept like a wave into the Indian countryside. It turned India from being deficient in food grains to being self-sufficient.

But the increase in agricultural yield must keep pace with the growing population. To remain self-sufficient in food grains, we need another green revolution.

Plasticulture applications are one of the most useful indirect agricultural inputs which hold the promise to transform Indian agriculture and bring in the "Second Green Revolution"

Plasticulture is the use of plastics in agriculture, horticulture, water-management, food grains storage and related areas. A variety of plastics materials and end products are deployed in plasticulture applications - for water conservation, irrigation efficiency, crop, and environment protection, as well as end product storage and transportation.

Infrastructure

“Globally around 22% of plastic sales are for building products, making construction a very significant sector for the plastics industry. Apart from the obvious applications, such as cladding, flooring, pipework, cable sheathing and foam insulation, plastics are used in everything from the concrete foundations to the final coat of paint.

From the construction of new homes to the retrofit and renovation of commercial buildings, and from hospitals to schools, architects and designers rely on plastics to help maximize energy efficiency, durability, and performance.”

Healthcare

Plastics have made very significant contribution in the areas of health and healthcare. For more than 40 years, plastic medical products from disposable syringes to IV blood bags to heart valves have helped to save lives. Many of the medical practices that are common today are made possible by plastic. Plastics have found uses in simple applications like packaging of drugs and syringes as well as body implants.

There are clearly two types of uses of plastics in healthcare. One end of the spectrum includes applications where these are used inside the human body or in contact with tissue, blood and /or biological fluids. The other end of spectrum is that in which plastics are used in medical related applications such as packaging, devices, hearing aids, low vision aids, artificial limbs, etc. and medical equipments.

Reliance Polymers used in medical applications comply with the rigid National and International standards.
